Is this a double standard?

I have a personal story for you. When I was 15, me and three friends decided to go out. I had never had an alcoholic beverage or done any kind of drug beside tylenol. Well they showed up to my house that night and they were toasted, both high and drunk. They would always tease me about being such a "good" person for not doing what they do. Well, they asked me to go along for the ride...since they were my friends I agreed because I didnt want them to think I didn't wanna be their friend anymore. After about 30min of them swerving through lanes, and falling asleep; I told them to pull over and let me out. I walked home that night pissed off that I even got in the car with them. Well later that night I found out that they got into an accident and all three of them died. The official report said that all of them were so drugged up that none of them could have been in their right mind, and their blood alcohol content was way over the legal limit for an adult, and they were only 15. I told my mother that I was in that same car with them, but I got out because I saw how toasted they were. It still hurts me today to know that I let my friends get that far on drugs and alcohol. I could have stopped them when they first started. I could have done something, even if it meant me fighting each one by one to knock sense into them. I let alcohol and drugs litterally take my friends life...dont let it do the same to yours...
