Sims 2 Game Trouble! HELP!!!?

Alright..So, I have been trying for two days to be able to play The Sims 2 on my computer. Everything during installment, and during game play seems to be running fine. Everything except the flooring. All the flooring has odd squares within them, that AREN'T supposed to be there. I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling the game, and i have all the minimum requirements. I would REALLY like to get to play this game a.s.a.p. So what should i do to fix it, and how should i go about fixing?
