Future mother in law wants to be part of civil ceremony wedding..?

My FMI wants to be a part of our Civil Ceremony Wedding. I honestly dont want anyone there except Myself, my Future Husband and a witness that they provide at the Courthouse. Well first, my family does not know about me getting married. We are eloping, and how his mother found out i have no idea. But since my family will not be there it would be totally unfair if his family is there and if my family found out it would break their hearts. So i told him i wanted it to be just the 3 of us. He told her that. She isnt budging. I have nooo idea what to do in this situation. I dont want to make her upset or break her heart that she wont get to see her youngest son get married (First son to get married also). He explained to her that its just going to be Him and Myself and that in 2010 when i am stationed stateside and the funds are available we are going to have a Big ceremony like we both want with BOTH of our families there. We are doing the civil ceremony because we want to make it legal. We want to be married like right now. Someone please help!
