Is it realistic that the budget can be cut when the US is in three wars?
Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan are in the US crosshairs. It seems the rate of spending for three military operations alone, minus rescue istance to Japan and so forth does not allow the Congress latitude to cut spending. The US cannot continue to borrow at the rate of 10% a year, I just don't know how these so called cuts aren't merely a proverbial drop in the bucket. To be frank, on a personal note that would be like the cost of three simultaneous divorces and a high maintenance child who continues to get in costly trouble, all of which are in my pocketbook. To pursue the ogy in all cases they are demanding from me (public). This is rather simplistic, but I am trying to get at the root of what I perceive to be the problem. How then could I (we) cut spending, when shopping therapy is being applied beyond my (our) control? And there is trouble on every side? No disrespect to anyone, I am trying to gain a better understanding, in order to be better informed.
